Softball splits with Garden City

The Lady Trojan Softball team has spent much of the season traveling up and down the highways and very little time at Southside Park. That would change on Thursday as the Trojans hosted Garden City Community College on a blustery spring afternoon.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Teddi Garcia kept the Broncbusters in check giving up only one earned run while tossing a five hit, seven strikeout performance. The Trojans got four hits from Jordan Sanchez and a pair of RBI's from Rachel Duran to claim the 5-1 win. The second game was plagued with errors for the Trojans. Trinidad got behind early, and sloppy play kept them there as they would fall 13-4.

The Trojans (14-16, 6-6) will host Western Nebraska Community College for a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday at Southside Park. And then, another doubleheader on Sunday, with McCook Community College starting at 11am.
