CASPER, Wyo. – The Trinidad State College men's soccer program dropped two heart-breaking Region 9 contests over the weekend in a 3-0 loss at Gillette on Friday and 3-1 setback to No. 12 Casper on Saturday.

Gillette jumped out to an early 3-0 lead that the Trojans never could get a hold of. The Trojans managed 12 shots in the match while keeper Bryan Amezcua (So., Lakewood, Colo.) tallied 4 saves off 7 shots faced.

The Trojans (0-5, 0-2 Region 9) had a quick turnaround against No. 12 Casper (6-1, 2-0 Region 9) the following day where TSC battled the Thunderbirds til the very end. Ashton De Luna (Fr., Denver, Colo.) found Martin Kantorowicz (Fr., Paris, France) in the 23rd minute of the match to give the Trojans an early 1-0 lead before the T-birds tied up the match just before halftime.

The teams battled throughout the second half before the T-birds were able to come up with back-to-back goals in the 86th and 87th minute to walk away with a 3-1 victory.

Amezcua faced 26 shots (11 on frame) while tallying 8 saves on the match.

The Trojans return home this coming weekend to host Lamar on Friday at 1 pm and Northeastern on Saturday at 11 am at Central Park.
